The Mountain Part 22 - Fury

Nella's mind raced as Ser Reglas led her from the Hall of the Hundred Hearths. Shaking, heart pounding in her chest, her eyes stung with tears and she could feel her cheeks burning. How dare he? How could that horrible man treat her so badly? How dare he humiliate her in front of everyone in the Hall? He was so smug, so dismissive, so quick to write her off as some stupid, helpless woman. She would show him that it was a mistake to underestimate her. He would be sorry for treating her so badly, for hurting her sister, for everything... Steering her ahead of him up the winding stairs, Ser Reglas led her through the long halls, holding her just above the elbow, gaunleted fingers tight around her arm, but not tight enough to hurt her. Stupid man, she thought. So blindly loyal to his Lord, so proud to have been knighted by that monster. "Let go of me, I can walk on my own." She spat over her shoulder at the big man, attempting to jerk her arm away from him. Reglas chuckle...

A Conversation with Conan Stevens - HBOWatch.com Interview by MJS!

Image
A Conversation with Conan Stevens - HBOWatch.com Interview It was November of 2008 when HBO gave the green light for the pilot of the upcoming Game of Thrones television series. I remember the day when I read a post in an online A Song of Ice and Fire forum suggesting possible candidates to play Ser Gregor Clegane, one of my all-time favorite characters from the book series. From the moment I saw Australian stunt actor Conan Stevens, he had my vote. At 7’ ¼”, 315 pounds, Conan, a non-competitive bodybuilder and former Australian Professional Wrestling champion, certainly had the size and the physique to bring The Mountain That Rides to life. The fandom agreed, Conan was the Ser Gregor we’d all been hoping for. …     …     … Recently, I had the pleasure of talking to Conan about his role as Ser Gregor, his future, and what it’s been like to climb the ladder of success. Here’s what the stunt actor, MENSA member and former chess champio...

The Mountain Part 21 - Hurt

As he pulled her close and she didn't stiffen or try to pull away, again, Gregor wondered what caused her to be so brave. His Lady wife only sighed contentedly and wrapped her arms around him, stroking his hair and pressing her body into his. "Little Doe..." He said softly, closing his eyes for a moment, he feeling  the throbbing in his head lessening. "Your head, it hurts you, my Lord?" She asked, him, her voice quiet, soothing. He nodded, raising his head to look into her eyes. "Aye, it does." He answered, and her brow furrowed with concern. She caressed his face with her fingertips. Her touch was like feathers brushing against his rough beard and he sighed. Melicent leaned closer and laid tiny kisses on his forehead, then, her lips moving to his temples. Her kisses made him think of warm summer rain, falling gently, almost imperceptibly onto his skin. Gregor turned his head slightly to capture her lips with his own, and she gave a tantalizing littl...

Bolton Rising - Part 34 - Arya

Arya felt herself pulled from a deep sleep as Ramsay arose from the bed. She'd felt him caress her hair, felt his lips touch her shoulder. He'd whispered to her as she'd stirred, but she hadn't heard his words, as sleep had taken her again. Soothed by his touch, the sound of his voice, her Master, her love, she'd slept once more. When she woke again, she felt chilled and moved to gather the covers around her. Ramsay's side of the bed was empty and she waited for him to return. There was an empty Scotch glass on the bedside table, but his phone was missing. After a moment, she slid across the bed and opened the drawer. Ramsay's knife was gone too, but his shoes still lay where he'd kicked them aside when he'd undressed for bed. Arya concluded that he must still be in the house somewhere. Perhaps he'd gone to the kitchen, or he could be working in his office. He'd been sweet to her tonight, she thought, smiling as she snuggled ba...

Bolton Rising Part 33 - Ramsay, Gregor, Melly

The Mountain stomped forward and shoved Ramsay aside roughly as he leered so openly at Melly on the bed, his beloved woman tossed down like a piece of succulent meat to be feasted upon. "If we're doing this now, then I'm the one calling the shots here Bastard!" Gregor rumbled with pent up fury, yanking at the button to his jeans, sending the piece of metal flying and rolling across the floor. "She's your bitch. The one you stole from me. I wouldn't expect otherwise." Ramsay replied with a cool casualness, tamping down his own heated irritation at being manhandled by his close friend. He always let Clegane get away with too much and the lack of respect would one day fester into something dangerous. Melly raised herself slightly, observing the interaction between Gregor and Ramsay. Her mind was strangely clear. She was completely focused on what she knew was her duty, to please her Man, and her Master. She remembered something that Rams...

Bolton Rising - Part 32 - Ramsay, Gregor, Melly

"Hello sweet little deer..." Ramsay smiled as he opened the front door and let his former pet step inside the compound once again. "I was about ready to send my Bastard Boys out to get you. But they're drunk and rowdy and you would look like such a tasty meal to them." He smiled like the devil incarnate, dressed all in black with tight leather pants, a casual but fitted shirt and expensive leather boots. Those pale eyes roamed over Melly's attire from head to toe, taking note of every detail and giving a nod of approval. "I'm pleased with this look, but we're not going out anywhere pretty pet. Did you think I was treating you to a dinner?" Ramsay laughed, leering at his pretty prey. She stood before her former Master, shaking so hard she wondered if he could see... heart pounding so loudly that she wondered if he could hear... "No, I... Ramsay, what's wrong? Is Gregor alright? Are you?" She stepped in, but he g...

Bolton Rising - Part 31 - Melly

"Ramsay! Wait..." But he had already gone. Melly hung up the house phone, her hand shaking so badly that she had to try several times to replace the handset in the charger. Gregor's schedule was unpredictable, he was often out late on jobs for Ramsay, so she hadn't been overly concerned when he'd not come home that evening. Most nights he would call her, but now and then he was unable to check in, so after she'd had her dinner and seen to the dogs, she'd fallen asleep, reading in bed. The ringing phone had woken her and assuming it was Gregor, she'd answered without checking the caller ID. The sound of Ramsay's voice on the other end of the line had jerked her fully awake, setting her heart to pounding. It had been two years since Gregor had taken her from Ramsay and still, every time she heard his voice, she felt sheer terror. Ramsay had owned her, used her... tortured her... her skin still bore many of the scars of his attentions. She had lost ...

The Mountain Part 20 - Disquiet

They returned to the Hall of the Hundred Hearths, Gregor walking beside her, arm around her possessively, resting his big hand at the curve of her hip. He would protect her. She was still shaking, and what she would have liked, was to lean into him, to let him bear all of the weight of Arys Dayne's execution, yet she walked beside him, head held high, refusing to show her new husband how weak she really was. She must be weak, she knew. A brave girl would not have been sorry to see the Dornishman meet his demise, she thought, but Melicent felt sick, chilled... the image of Arys on the saltire, his entrails spilling from his gut, the sound of that sickening blow... his screams... repeated over and over in her mind. It wasn't that she wanted him to live, not really. But watching... seeing ... she'd never wanted that. Was there more to it than that? She didn't rightly know. Arys's death, the violence of it, scared her. Her Lord Husband's pleasure at the completion...

Bolton Rising - Part 29 - Gregor

It had been to long since he had brought Sandor into the emergency room, beaten half to death, perhaps more, and barely breathing. Gregor paced up and down the hallways, glaring at anyone who gave him a questioning look. Keeping  the entire place on edge, security guards with anxious hands on their gun holsters, while doctors and nurses avoided crossing paths with him and held back any updates on his brother's condition. The Mountain finally walked outside, getting a signal on his cell and dialed the last number he ever wanted to call. "Baelish here." The line answered and Gregor clenched his jaw, taking a deep breathe before answering. "You need to get to the hospital. Sandor is hurt. Badly." He replied with a clipped tone, not waiting for the Mockingbird's questions, and hung up. Gregor then headed to the parking lot and jumped  into his truck, shaking hands grasping the steering wheel as he speed off into traffic and drove into the darkness ...

Bolton Rising - Part 26 - Sandor & Gregor

"Brother..." Sandor replied with a coldness in his voice and a killing look in his furious eyes. The gathered crowd parted and let the Hound through and into the fighting circle.  He yanked his shirt off, tossing it aside and moved forward, taking up the challenge. "It's been awhile... You never call. Never write." Gregor smiled a taunting smirk as he peers down at his scowling brother. "Never even visit me." The eldest of the Clegane brothers enjoyed how easily he revved up his sibling's anger. It made it so easy to predict his movements. If only his stupid brother would realize that by now. "I have no need to make contact with you, asshole. Not since you went missing and came back as Ramsay's head bitch." Sandor growled back, watching Gregor's face darken at the insult. The tension in the room suddenly fired up another level and the crowd began to grow restless, eager for blood, pain and payment of flesh. There wa...

The Mountain - Lady Melly

Image
One of our most frequent  requests is a photo of Lady Melicent. As she's not actually a real person, that isn't easy. I've finally decided to cave and post a pic that's close to my mental image of Melly. I think that truth be told, my real mental image of her is actually a green eyed, human version of Belle, from Disney's Beauty and the Beast. I know, I know... ;) mjs

The Mountain Part 19 - Execution

There was a chill in the air when Nella awoke. She'd slept late, after a wakeful night, and for a blissful moment, she thought she was home in her bed at Karhold. When she opened her eyes, she realized that she was alone in the huge room she'd shared with her sister at Harrenhal. A heaviness settled over her as she lay remembering the wedding the night before, remembered watching the Mountain carry her sister from the Hall of the Hundred Hearths. The bedding, she knew, would have  been brutal. Melicent thought she could learn to love her Lord Husband. Nella wondered how much he would need to hurt her before she'd see the evil he carried within him. Rising, she bathed and dressed, descending to the Hall to look for her younger sisters. Upon her arrival, she found the cavernous hall to be nearly empty. Other than the flowers, all traces of the wedding feast had been removed. She saw her father and Maester Alaric talking at one of the long tables and went to greet them. ...
